Tūmatakahuki honours and recognises the knowledge holders and keepers of our stories of connection to people and place. They embody our traditional values of care and are a shelter of reassurance and strength, reminiscent of our ancestral house, adorned with tukutuku.
This blanket is woven in our heavy style with a thicker yarn using 100% New Zealand Lambswool, the result is a larger & more robust blanket. There are six different weave structures to embellish this design with a reversible contrasting colour pallet. The Aparautaki collection features our classic blanket stitch edging. The yarn colours used are Pingao Gold, Red Ochre and Bark.
Wool blankets are among the most durable and desirable of all blankets. They're soft and warm, and are very difficult to stain or damage. Wool blankets are also very easy to care for and you don’t need to wash them often, in fact, it’s best to wash them sparingly and some guidelines recommend washing wool blankets once every three months.
Check out our product care page for further information on how to care for your blanket.
